Annette’s son

I am the product of a Dutch mother
who was an artist and a Brazilian father,
who was a businessman.

I am an artist who for his sins, understands business.

But in reality, I am Annette’s son.
Sorry Dad.

My mother, Annette, was the first female art director in advertising in the Netherlands.

Much to my father’s frustration,
I grew up in Brazil surrounded
by art and layouts and lateral thinkers.

I got my work ethic and discipline from playing basketball professionally in my youth. (I’m 6’9”). In basketball, if you don’t work, you don’t succeed.

I was once praised by Francis Ford Coppola for my bravery.
(how’s that for name dropping).

In the last 17 years I have worked in Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, Berlin, Kuwait, Boulder Colorado, Los Angeles and Miami.

I have won awards at all the major shows including 6 one show pencils.

But all I ever want is to make my mother proud.

I am Annette’s son.
